Everything people ask, answered straight.
These are the real questions Houston homeowners ask me about professional Christmas lights. If yours is not here, call or text me at (832) 982-1309 and I will give you a straight answer.
The money questions.
How much does professional Christmas light installation cost in Houston?
Installs start at $800, and a typical first year runs around $1,600 for a full display. That number covers everything: your lights custom-cut to the house, the install, timers, mid-season maintenance, takedown, and storage. Bigger homes and bigger displays run more; the pricing page has an instant estimator.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit books your install date and comes straight off your total. The balance is due the day the install wraps. After that there is nothing more to pay for the season: maintenance, takedown, and storage are already part of the price.
Why is the second year cheaper?
Because you already own the lights. Year one includes the product; every season after that is the reinstall, maintenance, takedown, and storage, which runs about 20% less. If you want to add to the display, new pieces are quoted separately.
Is there a charge for takedown?
No. Takedown is included in every job, never billed separately. Your lights come down before the end of January, and then we store them for you at no charge.
Product and ownership.
Do I own the lights, or am I renting them?
You own them. Your first install includes commercial-grade lights cut to fit your home, and after that season they are yours. We hang the same set every year, so you are never paying for the product twice.
How are your lights different from store-bought strands?
We install commercial-grade bulbs on thick, weather-rated cable, custom-cut so every run fits your roofline exactly, with no gaps and no extra light hanging off the end. They hold a clean, even warm color and are built to come back looking right season after season. Everything mounts on clips, so there are no holes, no staples, and no damage.
Where do you store my lights?
With us, boxed and labeled with your name, at no charge. Next season the same set goes back up on your house. You never see a box in your garage.
What color options do I have?
Warm white is the classic and what most of my customers pick, but multicolor and mixed looks are all on the table. You pick the look, and your mockup shows it on your own house before you decide.
Timing questions.
When should I book?
Booking opens in late summer and the calendar fills fast. Early installs start in October at a discounted rate, and by mid-November the best dates are usually gone. Earlier is always better.
If you install in October, are my lights on in October?
Only if you want them to be. Plenty of customers take an October install for the early rate and keep the display dark until Thanksgiving week. The timer handles it; you pick the first night.
What happens if a bulb goes out in December?
That is my problem, not yours. In-season maintenance is part of every package, so a dark bulb or a dropped line gets fixed at no charge, usually before you would have noticed it yourself.
When do the lights come down?
Takedowns run through January, and every display is down before the end of the month. Then your lights go into free storage until next season.
Getting started.
Do you need to come out to give me a quote?
Usually not. Send a few photos of your house through the quote form and I measure the roofline right from them. You get back a real price and a mockup of your own home lit, usually within a day.
What is the mockup, exactly?
A picture of your actual house with the display drawn on it: roofline, trees, wreath, whatever we scope. You see the finished look before you put a dollar down. It comes free with every quote.
What areas do you serve?
Central Houston and the north side: The Woodlands, Spring, Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, Cypress, and everything inside the 610 Loop. Close but not sure? Send your address through the quote form and I will tell you fast. The full list is on the service area page.
Who actually shows up at my house?
Me and my regular crew. The same crew has been with me for 8 years, and the same people who install your display come back for maintenance, takedown, and next season. You can read how the season runs on the how it works page.
